Hello guys, it’s Merima and this is my first book review. You can see from title which book I’m talking about. Inferno is one of my favourite books. All book addicts have heard of Dan Brown, I love his work. And I love this genre (mystery and thriller). So if you are one in a million that haven’t heard of Dan Brown maybe you know his works like Angels and Demons, The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol. Like Inferno they are from Robert Langdon series.

This book is about journey of Robert Langdon that starts with him waking up in a hospital with a head wound and no memory of how did he get it. The last thing he remembers is walking on Harvard campus. He is now in Florence. Sienna Brooks helps him when woman named Vayentha (assasin) tries to hurt him.
While he is at Sienna’s apartment, Robert finds a cylinder with a biohazard sign in his jacket. When Sienna was out looking for clothes that can fit Robert, he learns more about her past from a set of news papers. Robert decides to open the container and finds a small medieval bone cylinder fitted with a hi-tech projector that displays a modified version of Botticelli’s Map of Hell.

Anyway, they went through all kinds of adventures (you will have to read the book to know more, because if i tell you there is no mystery).
Robert and Sienna head toward the Old City, believing the cylinder must have something to do with Dante.
Robert has dreams about an old lady. But they are not dreams they are memories coming back. The old lady is Elizabeth Sinskey, the director-general of the WHO ( World Health Organization).
They are trying to stop the virus that Zobrist created. The virus is created to reduce the overpopulation on earth.
The plague that Zobrist created is revealed to be a vector virus that randomly activates to employ DNA modification to cause sterility in 1/3 of humans, therefore reducing population growth to a more stable level. Sienna and Elizabeth decide not to try to reverse Zobrist’s actions, Sienna pointing out that doing so would be difficult and hazardous even for someone like Zobrist, and Elizabeth acknowledging that Zobrist had a point about the dangers of overpopulation.

I really hope you read the book if you haven’t already, it is truly amazing.

Welcome to the blogosphere, Merima. I enjoyed this post a lot. I’ve heard so much about Dan Brown’s books but I had no idea what they were about. It would be handy to talk about what aspects of the book you liked and didn’t like. Having critiques like that would make it a better review. Great first post though!

Great review. I’m also a big fan of Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon series and this one had me up till 1am with its plot twists. I heard that a 5th novel on the series will be out in the near future.
